Rhiannon Thompson, Head of Quality Improvement

Rhiannon Thompson is the Head of Quality Improvement for Thornbury Community Services (TCS). She has 9 years’ experience working in community care services, 2 years of transforming care experience and 2 years in domiciliary care. She also has experience working in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) for the NHS.

Working as the Head of Quality Improvement at TCS, part of Acacium Group, Rhiannon is responsible for:

  • Driving clinical excellence and improving the clinical process through Quality Improvement
  • Leading the Restraint Reduction Strategy
  • Ensuring the service TCS provides is compliant
  • Being accountable for key quality projects
  • Supporting the upskilling of the internal clinical workforce in relation to PBS

Qualifications:

  • BSc evidence-based nursing
  • MSc applied behaviour analysis
  • Post-graduate certificate in teaching and learning
  • BCBA programme
  • Level 5 Professional Coaching - in progress

  • Exceptional Performance Award winner at Acacium Group
  • Delivered lectures in the learning disability nursing programmes at York, Hull and Coventry (Scarborough campus) universities

What attracted you to working in community care?

“Working in community care allows me to do what I love the most, which is teaching and supporting nurses and support workers with their progression. At TCS, I support our clinical leads to develop in their roles and work collaboratively to make positive changes in our clients' lives and healthcare professionals' careers.”
