Did you know?

Do you know how International Nurses Day began? The first International Nurses Day took place in 1974 when the International Council of Nurses proclaimed the 12th of May as International Nurses Day.

This was due to a woman named Dorothy Sunderland who contacted the president to proclaim a day for nurses in 1953. Despite the vast interest in having a day dedicated to nurses, the International Nurses Day campaign was declined and didn’t take place until 1974.
