Make a lasting impact by building meaningful relationships.

At Thornbury Community Services (TCS), we believe exceptional care starts with genuine connections. We’re looking for Support Worker within Learning Disability Services who are committed to making a real difference—people who truly care and want to build long-term partnerships with those they support.

This isn’t just a job; it’s an opportunity to empower an individual with Cerebral Palsy & Learning Disability to live safe, fulfilled lives. You’ll help clients achieve personal goals, explore new hobbies, and enjoy trips into the community—all while creating relationships that bring lasting satisfaction for both you and them.

We are looking for a compassionate and patient Support Worker to support a gentleman to live an active and fulfilling life. This role involves providing personal care, including assistance with hoisting, showering, toileting, mobility, and medication support. Experience with medication administration is essential. You will support him to enjoy his interests, including sports, technology, creative storytelling, gardening, and accessing the local community. You will also provide encouragement with exercise and support him to explore new opportunities and hobbies.

We’re looking for someone with excellent communication skills, a positive approach, and the ability to give time and reassurance when supporting decision-making and choices. A good sense of humour and a person-centered approach are key to success in this rewarding role.

What You’ll Do

· Deliver person-centered care within the client’s own home.

· Maintain safety whilst making positive risk decisions.

· Enrich life and promote independence.

· Build trust and long-term relationships that make every day meaningful.

What We Offer

We value our support workers and provide a benefits package designed to help you thrive:

· Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) – confidential wellbeing support.

· Travel and mileage expenses – reimbursed for your shifts.

· Exceptional pay rates – among the highest in the UK.

· Bespoke training and competency development – keep growing in your career.

What We’re Looking For

We want passionate, resilient professionals who can commit to delivering care without exception. To join our team, you’ll need:

· 12 months UK-based experience in a community setting.

· Confidence in maintaining risk and using physical intervention where required.

· Confidence in utilising PBS standards within services.

· Strong personal values and ethical standards.

· Dedication, commitment and stability.

· A genuine desire to build lasting relationships and make a positive impact.

Why Choose TCS?

Joining Thornbury means joining a compassionate team that values people—not just as clients, but as individuals. You’ll enjoy job satisfaction, and the chance to make a difference that lasts.
